東南アジア学会会員の皆さま

東南アジア・オセアニアにおける海民のレジリエンスを地域間比較の視点から検討する標記シンポジウムを2026年1月30日（金）〜31日（土）2日間の日程で開催します。初日には、東南アジア海民研究のフロンティアを切り拓いてこられたマードック大学のJames F. Warrenさんをお招きし、基調講演をしていただきます。発表者は若手から中堅・シニアまでが含まれ、地域的にはインドネシア、フィリピン、マレーシア、タイ、ミャンマーからソロモン諸島、マダガスカルまでを射程においています。「かれらはなぜ海辺に暮らし続けるのか」――シンポジウムではこの問いを軸に、海民・海域研究の意義と魅力を再発見し、この研究を次の世代につないでいきたいと考えています。
また、2日目の第4セッション（日本語英語双方使用・同時通訳つき）では、 東日本大震災・津波で甚大な被害を被った三陸・気仙沼の畠山信さん（NPO法人「森は海の恋人」）と三浦友幸さん（プロジェクトリアス）のお二人に、復興の知と経験を語っていただきます。最後には、かれら実践知識人と研究者、参加者の対話を通じて「海とともに生きること」のヴァナキュラーな（在地の）思想をともに探り、東南アジアやオセアニア、さらには全世界に向けて発信したいと願っています。
