Announcement and Call for Papers: 2024 Conference

The 29th Annual Philippine Studies Forum in Japan (APSFJ)

We are pleased to inform you that the 29th Annual Philippine Studies Forum in Japan (APSFJ) will be held at Tsuru University, Yamanashi, on 22 and 23 June, 2024. This conference is an ideal venue for graduate students, researchers, and practitioners to share and discuss their research and ideas with fellow Filipinologists in Japan.

Field of Presentations:
– Academic presentations on various disciplines, including but not limited to: history, gender studies, anthropology, film-media studies, sociology, literature, art history, religious studies, musicology, political science and migration studies.
– Presentation on activities by NGOs, the private sector, and government agencies.
– Art performance, film showing, and exhibitions by artists.
– Journalistic presentations.

Schedule:
– Registration deadline: 10 April, 2024.
– Conference:22 and 23 June, 2024.

Requirements for participation:
Anyone who is interested in, and/or whose research is related to the Philippines. (Those who reside outside Japan may apply to attend the conference, but please be informed that the steering committee does not provide any assistance for visa application and accommodation.)

Daycare Room
Participants can use a room as a daycare room for children.

Participation Fee:
– Full-time employee: 3,000 yen
– Student, part-time employee: 2,000 yen
