Dear Sir/Madam

I am pleased to inform the above project titled ‘TWG 06 2021A –
Increasing the Readiness and Resiliency of Tourism Destination
Stakeholders in Managing Health Crises in APEC Economies’ has been
awarded by Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation to UniSZA Consultancy Sdn
Bhd in Malaysia as the main contractor.  The project is hosted by
Malaysia with co-sponsoring economies from the People’s Republic of
China, The Philippines, and Japan.

The primary aims of the project are to examine best practices,
strategies, procedures and actions which are planned and employed to
avert and cope with health crises that affect tourism, to enhance
capacity building of tourism destination stakeholders through
workshops and case study research in selected APEC economies, to
assist tourism stakeholders in preparing, managing and mitigating the
adverse impacts of future health crises that impact tourism industry,
and to promote sustainable tourism development through strategic
management of crises and disasters, in particular health crises.

One of the key project activities is to conduct a two-day virtual
roundtable discussion among subject matter experts consisting of
academia, tourism stakeholders, experts in economy, health, safety and
security, policymakers across APEC and non-APEC economies. This
roundtable discussion aims to produce a written report on the initial
draft of the framework for health crisis management in tourism. The
virtual roundtable discussion is scheduled to take place on 7 and 8
November 2022 (8pm Malaysia Time / GMT +8 hours), and you are kindly
invited to participate in this two-day event. Please fill in the
google form to confirm your participation –
