Dear all,

This is to announce that the CSEAS-KASEAS Joint Conference will be held
online (Zoom) on 20 November (Fri.), 2020. You are cordially invited to it.

Since 2009, the Korean Association for Southeast Asian Studies (KASEAS) and
the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Kyoto University (CSEAS) began
academic exchange, by hosting seminars alternately in Korea and Kyoto. This
time it is our turn, and the seminar which was originally scheduled in May
had to be postponed and reformatted as an on-line conference.

The 2020 conference brings together senior and junior researchers and
faculty members from both institutions to discuss case studies on the theme
of “Connectivity and Transformation in Southeast Asia.”  The conference’s
format features a series of paired interactions between early-career
presenters and senior faculty discussants, with the intention of
cultivating a productive exchange of ideas and perspectives between
scholars with compatible research interests.   We hope this endeavour will
continue to enhance the mutual exchange between our two institutions,
especially among the younger generation of scholars who are the main
participants in this 2020 conference.
